Where did all the science go?

Have you tried to find science articles on cnn.com? Good luck! There is no longer a tab labelled "Science" that you can click at the top of their homepage. You have two choices, now. Either you scroll all the way down to the bottom of their homepage to the section entitled "More News," and you will see that the second to last item on the right column is labelled "Science," or, conversely, you can go to their homepage, and at the top of the page there is a tab for "Tech."

If you click on "Tech," and you want to find the "Science" section, you must scroll down to the very bottom of the page to find it. It is on the absolute bottom left of the page.

For the last 35 years, educators in the United States have been decrying the lack of science knowledge of U.S. students.

But CNN's move to eradicate science from their website is not a change in attitude. They began to dumb down their website from the moment that Ted Turner sold CNN to Time-Warner. After that, all of the meat and substance was removed from their articles, and the grammar and vocabulary went straight down hill as well. What a shame! And shame on them!

N.B. SEE THE POST DIRECTLY UNDER THIS ONE TO FIND OUT WHERE THE INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE HIDES THEIR SCIENCE ARTICLES.

Note of November 17, 2007: it seems that CNN is attempting to improve its pitiful excuse for a science section, but you'll still have to dig for it.

Cassandra,
